Our Goal:

Provide access to evidence -based reading intervention to ALL children regardless of economic status.

Traditionally, this type of reading instruction has only been available through expensive private tutoring.

Free 1:1 tutoring for struggling Kindergarteners

R.I.S.E. (Reading Intervention Starts Early) is specifically designed to target children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are struggling to learn to read.

For about half of the students starting school, learning to read is the most difficult task they will encounter. The key to teaching these struggling readers is through direct instruction. If multisensory sequential instruction is introduced early, reading failure can be prevented. This multisensory instruction for kindergarten children includes explicit instruction in:

⚫ Letter recognition

⚫ Letter formation

⚫ Letter sounds

⚫ Finger spelling

R.I.S.E. volunteers are matched with students from local partner elementary schools based on teacher recommendation.

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.
